Meet The Artist
Catherine Sutcliffe-Fuller

I studied as a Fine Artist Printmaker, gaining a BA(Hons) from the University of Brighton in 1994. Since then I have been represented by The Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art who have sold my hand made prints to the major banking sectors. I have also completed commissions for Shepherd Construction, attended as ‘Artist in Residence’ at St.Peters School in York and my work is on show in many private collections throughout the country. Each piece starts as a spontaneous drawing that I work into a considered design about nature tolerating man. By working with lino and etching metal plates I am combining the two processes to build layers of interest. As the different plates evolve they reveal their own character. Their contrasting effects are used to differentiate between man and nature. Currently I am working on a commission to produce images for a publication about the ‘Making of Charcoal’ by The Forestry Commission.
