Artists statement

I produce vibrantly coloured 3 plate etchings and painterly monotypes.The landscape is my main inspiration, whether it be London, France,Canada,or any where else my travels take me.Recently my work has become more abstracted ,as I simplify shapes andfind pattern within the landscape. I use a brush to create a painterlyline when working on the metal.Printing 3 metal plates for each image is labour intensive, but theexciting hues achieved are not, in my opinion achievable in any otherway. I try to use colour for its own sake, independently of thesubject. Colour alone is generated by light and space. Tones become the force of the picture.
