Alison Bracey

Artists Statement

Alison lives in Hertfordshire. On the completion of a Foundation Studies course at Central Saint Martins she studied painting and printmaking at Middlesex University, graduating with BA(Hons) Fine Art in 2000. She went on to complete a Masters Degree in Fine Art Print at Wimbledon School of Art, graduating in 2003.

Alison’s work is a response to travel. Recent journeys have been to Canada, Denmark and Iceland, countries with a rich tradition in mythology and folklore. Photography is used to record the experience of travel and as part of the process of printmaking. Her prints frequently combine and contrast collagraph and silkscreen printing. She is keen to retain a tactile value to her work and the collagraph process is ideal for this.
